OTHERclicks
OTHERclicks is an email marketing system that enables non-technical staff to run sophisticated email and SMS marketing campaigns. As an additional module to our OTHERobjects content management system, it uses a simple browser based interface to handle the creation, distribution and reporting of email campaigns to large groups of recipients who have previously opted to receive information from a company or website.
Easy creation
Using a number of pre-defined templates in OTHERclicks you can create, design and publish newsletters in a controlled environment. Any number of templates can be designed in advance and be used for specific newsletters. These can be designed to conform to any existing corporate graphical guidelines or to reflect your existing website.
OTHERclicks can be used to send HTML email (i.e. one that looks like a web page) or plain text, depending on the recipient’s preference. The content for a specific email is then entered into OTHERclicks through a standard web form together with any images (such as product shots etc).
The use of electronic newsletters and email marketing is a cost-effective way to establish and maintain a brand, inform customers of last-minute events and build relationships.
Personalisation
OTHERclicks enables emails to be personalised for each recipient by adding any number of fields in the email (name, position, company name, etc). Another powerful feature is the ability to target specific groups or sub-groups depending on the data available. For instance if postcode information is available for each recipient, emails can be sent to recipients in particular locations – all recipients with a Bristol postcode for example, meaning that highly targeted campaigns can be run that take into account different regional variations. Other factors such as age range, gender and previous buying patterns can all be used to target specific campaigns at the most appropriate target group.
Testing
Once the appropriate text and images have been added to the email via a standard web based form, a test email can be sent to a small group of recipients before it is sent to your customers allowing you to check the layout and compatibility of the email across different systems.

Scheduling
To make the system as useful as possible, OTHERclicks allows you to schedule campaigns meaning that you can set up a number of emails to be sent out over a specific period, such as when you are holiday, together with the date and time that the emails should be sent. This helps to maintain interactions and communication with the audience on a regular basis, without you having to be available at all times.
Delivery
Delivery of emails is straight-forward and handled automatically. Once a database of recipients has been established and the content of the email has been approved, the click of a button sends emails to each of the recipients. Successful and unsuccessful deliveries are automatically tracked within the system with unsuccessful emails being retried three times automatically. Some service providers will prevent messages being delivered if too many arrive from the same source too quickly. For this reason OTHERclicks sends mails out in batches in order that servers are not overloaded or mails stopped. Handling bounces Invalid email addresses are managed automatically by OTHERclicks saving you time and effort.
Bounces can be determined as either hard or soft bounces, invalid addresses for example are hard bounces. Bounces which occur due to the recipient being on holiday or their mailbox being full are classified as soft bounces and after trying to send the mail a predetermined number of times notification can be sent to a human recipient or the address can be removed. Reporting and tracking Using OTHERclicks it is possible to track how a customer behaves once they have received an email. For example, if an email contains a special offer OTHERclicks can provide a report detailing how many recipients actually clicked on the special offer link and subsequently if they bought the product.
