The ZSL website has been named Tourism Website of the Year in the 17th annual Enjoy England Awards for Excellence. Known as the ‘Oscars’ of tourism, the awards celebrate the best of English tourism, promoting healthy industry competition and high standards, helping to ensure England’s place as a world-class destination.
ZSL gained it’s entry into these prestigious awards after winning gold at the regional London Tourism awards in November 2005.
Brian Oldman, Commercial Director at ZSL said:
‘We are delighted to have received the award of Visit Britain Tourism Website of the Year. It recognises that our website not only helps to plan a great day out at London Zoo or Whipsnade but also generates revenue for our crucial conservation work.’
HRH The Duke of Gloucester, guest of honour at the awards ceremony said:
‘The Enjoy England Awards for Excellence highlight the very best that England has to offer. Each winner is a fine example of English excellence and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting those dedicated people responsible for the very best hotels, attractions and other tourism businesses in England.’
Of course the OTHER media shares the delight of ZSL and is excited at some of the future plans to make the site even better.
