The Nuffield Foundation Curriculum Project Centre brings together a powerful set of education resource sites for students and teachers. One of these, Chemistry Re:act is now being visited 50,000 times a month from a total audience of 80,000 UK pupils studying chemistry.
Andrew Hunt, Head of the Nuffield Curriculum Centre said that the site "really does show how it is possible to have sustained two-way communication with a large group of learners".
Chemistry Re:act answers questions raised by students and since it launched over 1000 FAQs have been published. Students are regularly publishing results on the site and the FAQs are being linked together into a set of interactive tutorials.
The site is also being well reviewed in the professional education press with this month's School Science Review commenting on Chemistry Re:act's experimental audio podcasts.
