Novas website brings world of new possibilities

Written 10.07.07 by: Sally Smith

This week saw the launch of UK charity, the Novas Group’s, brand new website, designed in partnership with the OTHER media. The website marks the beginning of a fresh era for the organisation, offering staff and visitors greater flexibility, together with the benefits of a modern, interactive website.

The site features some exciting new elements, including the ability to regularly publish podcasts. These podcasts, recorded and produced in-house by Novas, tell the inspirational stories of residents and ex-residents of Arlington House (a social housing resource for over 100 years). For Novas, podcasts are far more than technical applications; they give the website personality and let audiences engage first-hand with the vital work that the charity is doing.

Justin Morris, Online Marketing & Communications Coordinator, at Novas said “Our previous website was far from flexible and suffered from a lack of interaction with supporters. The new site is much more interactive, offering visitors the opportunity to subscribe to newsletters, post message and donate funds easily. It really has helped us take a big step forward, both in terms of our communication and fundraising objectives.”

The website design embodies the openness and approachability of Novas, with a clean pallet of colours, eye catching banners and flash animation adding interest. The site also takes visitors on seamless journeys between content areas, with related links encouraging further exploration and greater engagement with the site and the charity’s objectives.

Alex Aisthorpe, Project Manager at the OTHER media, said “we’re very happy with the Novas website redesign and launch, everything went smoothly and the Novas team were a joy to work with. We are now looking forward to developing their online shop ‘Rough Sleepers’ and building sites for the charity’s Contemporary Urban Centres and other initiatives.”

The Novas Group changes lives through arts, enterprise and community support, developing opportunities for individuals and communities through education, training, employment, art, culture and regeneration. Visit their new website at www.novasscarman.org
