New accessible website for Action for Blind People

We have just launched a new site for UK charity, Action for Blind People. The goal of the project was to bring the online look and feel of the charity up to the same standard as their offline communications.

While we strive to make all our sites accessible (and of course comply with the legislation), the priority for this site was to make blind and partially sighted people (VIPs) the priority: to make them first class rather than second class online citizens.

We did this by involving VIP web users throughout the design and testing process and have created a new site that can be viewed in many different ways by visitors with different sight impairments including text size, monochrome and high contrast versions of every page.

The result is an exciting looking site that is destined to become a major part of the work of the charity.
