Jonathan Briggs in NMA: Google’s simplest ad tools can’t be ignored.

I’m surprised that more advertising people don’t use Google. I’m not talking about search, which I suspect they use it for as much as the rest of us, but the more hidden services, such as Ad Planner, AdWords and Analytics.

I make this observation after having run a series of digital masterclasses with Hyper Island for some top agencies. These agencies usually have some great digital people, but they’re generally kept separate or belong to a recently acquired digital team and are just responsible for the web or mobile parts of a larger campaign. The rest of the agency thinks about TV and big ideas, as they have done for 50 years, and certainly not Google. But they should, because Google, Apple and Facebook want to eat their lunch.
