OTHERfashion – Karl Lagerfeld, Mr Porter and the Chinese Front Row
Posted on Mon, 19 Mar 2012 by Edd Gold
We wanted to give you a bite size look at 3 things we found interesting this week in the world of fashion and digital.
First is the new Karl Lagerfeld site, Karl.com.
WWD: It’s worth a visit just for the “Karl-isms.” Karl Lagerfeld’s new Web site, karl.com, devoted mainly to his new masstige collection, includes gems of wisdom and wit from fashion’s consummate overachiever.
Secondly we love the new Mr Porter app and augmented reality fashion hunt.
Mashable: Interested parties are invited to download augmented reality app to participate. The app will guide users to locations in each city, where Mr Porter shopping bags will appear — via augmented reality — on their phones. Each bag will contain a prize, such as Lanvin sneakers, Paul Smith cufflinks or a pair of A.P.C. jeans.
Finally Fashionista’s guide to the Chinese front row take over of Paris Fashion Week.
Fashionista: China has been building a front row presence for a while now and it’s never been as visible as it was in Paris last week. Of course, China’s presence at fashion shows reflects much more than Chinese actresses taking a sudden interest in western fashion.
